I have 2 hemi 4 speeds. One is long tailshaft dual mount. On the I.d. pad is
OE 124742
Pp833 3022
And on the tranny is
C 99129 H

The other short one. On the I.d. pad is
8BI98222
PP833 2293 0021
And on the tranny
E 4

C 97622
I don't know much about these trannys. I want to rebuild them both and use one of them in my duster. One needs a cluster gear and I see brewer sells them.

Wow! Thank you . So I'm guessing the short one is E body and long one is B body?

The "0E" trans would be 1970 B or E body with 440 or 440+6. probably a Challenger R/T
*** That is ..... if it has always been a 18 spline transmission & long tailshaft.

The "8B" trans would be 1968 Charger R/T with 440 or HEMI if it has always been a 18 spline transmission.
*** But, with a short tailshaft ..... it would've been a 23-spline ..... too early for HEMI a-bodys.

My mistake! Both tailshafts are the same length. Just that was has a mount for linkage in 2 places.

Then one is a B/E and the other is a B . , to will have to run a shorter driveshaft and make some type of adapter for the shifter to use it in your A body. But since you plan to rebuild it find a non OD A body 4 speed and swap on the tail and mainshaft.

Yes the 1970 has dual pads for the shifter and the crossmember mount is closer to the front. Being that I'm starting from scratch which tranny is better for an A-body? I'm not worried about driveshaft length. Just the shifter location and crossmember mount.

So the mainshaft A body will work? I actually have a tailshaft only in the shed too. And I have a fully synchronized 3 speed but that's probably different?

I don't know which works better , put the A body tail up against the 2 other tails and see which one has the trans mount pad in the same location and that will also give you an idea of what you need to do to move the shifter into the correct location. But use the mainshaft from an A body NON OD 833 will work , I'm building an A body hemi 4speed using the Passon alum. case.

I really don't know but I will say no the 3 speed mainshaft is not the same.

John rr,
Thanks I will do that today. I was just trying to avoid digging it out of the shed just yet as it is a mess.
