Has anyone here tried the Summit Glasspacks? I was looking at buying a set of the Dynomax Race Bullets but I noticed the Summit glasspacks sound like the same thing. I was looking at the 3" inlet/outlet version.
Dynomax Race Bullets described as:
"Glass-wrap perforated tube"
12" long body, 4" around

Summit glasspacks description:
"mufflers combine a louvered center tube with fiberglass packing"
12" long body, 4" around

So, to me, they sound like the same thing. Except the Summit glasspacks are about half the price. Yes, the Dynomax are aluminized steel vs the Summit naked steel but I am only concerned with the sound difference between the two.

Has anybody heard the Summit brand vs the Dynomax Race Bullets? Similar? Different?

My kid has a set on his 300.Right off the cutoffs behind the collectors. They are fairly loud but not super loud. His have been on at least 5 years. He runs them on the street also.Sometimes he runs thru them sometimes thru the full 3 inch out the back. His ET dosent really change thru them and open headers nut the sound is reduced a lot.Rocky

I would check to see what theperforated core size is..
just because they have 3" inlets/outlets doesnt indicate that the core is 3".
a 3" core is going to be a lot louder than 1 with a 2" or 2.5" core....

I am truckless..

Yes check the core size and that the nipples on each end do not neck down where they enter the case

I bought the 12" summit muffler to use as a resonator behind my powersticks.

it did not neck down inside, it was a 3" flow path with the 4" casing.

it did exactly what I wanted it to do. killed my resonance and drone

70Cuda383: thanks for answering that detail for me!

So, it seems to me that they should pretty much sound the same for half the price. I guess I will give the Summits a try.

Thank you all for the replies...
