440 with complete rebuild - everything new. I just replaced the fuel lines and installed a new fuel pump. The car drives great until you hit 3k rpm. It bogs down but it doesn't appear fuel related. The rpm doesn't fall and when going to N it idles perfect. You can't get it to perform or do anything past 3k rpm. Feels like fouled plugs. The fuel lines and pump were replaced due to corrosion in original fuel lines. Thanks!

I replaced the fuel pump, filter and lines after the car died out on me and I had to floor the car to get it home, not exceeding 20 mph. The lines were badly rusted and clogged the fuel filter. The pump was replaced after the lines and filter because I was barely getting any fuel to the carb. Before it did this the car ran great at all rpms.
Thanks!

I had similar issues and the carb was all plugged up with crap that got past the filter. Have you taken a look at the carb yet.

Ok---great info. What pump did you put on it? And the post above about possible crap in the carb might well be the problem.

I also noticed that after everything was changed the car was hard to start and blew excess exhaust. This was after I let it idle 20 mins after the repairs. Idle is crisp and smooth.
Thanks!

He carb is an Eddy 750 on dual plane.
The carb sounds like the culprit. I'll pull it and clean it real good. The night before it crapped I got on it on the way home from a car show. Tons of junk could be stuck in it.
I'll double-check the timing too.
Thanks for the help guys!

What about the pickup/sending unit, and sock filter in the tank? You may want to monitor fuel pressure while under load.
haven't heard an answer to this yet...if the fuel lines were that bad, and its the original sending unit/ fuel tank, then you'd have all that crap in your new fuel lines as well....

The fuel tank and sending unit are probably 6 or 7 years old so I've ruled those out. It has been running great until just recently discovering the clogged filter and rusty lines. Also, the fuel filter was installed AFTER the pump until I discovered the mistake 3 months ago.
I removed the carb last night and cleaned it real good with carb cleaner and compresses air. I'll drive it at lunch today and see how she does.
Thanks

I did and the hose looks fairly new. I will check all connections again. Never thought of that - thanks!
