I believe in bigger carbs but that is dependent on
how many revs you go to... I run a 1050 dom on a 405ci
but turn 8200

Too soon to tell on the revs, I plan to hammer it but its just a 30 over 440 with flat top 10.5 TRW's with balanced crank rods and pistons so I don't know but maybe 6,000 rpms ,,,will see..

I use a Holley 750 DP on my 440,and the cam is the 296/557.Plenty of carb.I tried the 850 we have and it didn't run any faster.

I'll bet that a well prepped 750/780 vac will run as well as any DP you would try on that setup. It's a familiar test bed that I've done with three carbs in the past...780VS/750DP/850DP. No reference to my current SB drag Aspen, which also sports a modded 780 vac that works better than the DP.
