Late in 09' We ran my HEMI on the dyno. It did great. At the end of the tuning and power pulls, we idled it to check manifold vacume.

Now, two years later, I am starting the engine in the car. (More on that in a different post). The engine fires instantly, runs fine until the pump shot is used up and dies. No fuel appears in the booster venturies. Fuel level is "spot on" and accelerator pumps work great but the idle circuit doest seem to feed any fuel to the engine at just above idle/no load.

Carbs are 750 square bowl vacume secondaries. Is it possible that they gummed up from sitting for two years?

Eng off. I'd take out the (4) mixture screws and shoot a 2 second blast of starting fluid into each hole with the red straw. As you know count the # of turns to lightly seated to return em to their orig position & I like the same one returned to it's orig hole

I sure hope you drained the gas and flushed the entire fuel system after two years. It would be like starting over again. Those carbs probaly need to come off and be gone thru. Especailly if fuel has been sitting in them.

ALL new fuel system. Fuel did stay in carbs while engine was in storage waiting for the body work to be completed.

You are probably right, I need to pull the carbs apart and clean/rebuild them. It is just strange to me that the idle circuit is the only thing that seems to have failed.

Well, storing gas in a carb for two years, (even VP racing) is not a good idea. When the carbs came apart, you could see the residue. A good cleaning and new kits and I hope that is that.
