No you only change the a arms with 9" drums or the newer 73-76 big bolt disc. Dr.Diff also makes sleeve so you don't need to change the arms with the 73-76 spindles.

I have a 1972 dart with 440. it still has the 10" drums all the way around. i want disc up front and possibly keep the small bolt pattern. I have the old kelsey hayes setup for it but i think you have to change one of the a-arms and ball joint or something? Does anyone make discs that will bolt right onto the drum spindle without changing anything?
The KH stuff should bolt right up to the upper arm, no adapters required. Hopefully, the lower BJ is in place on the KH spindle, if so you are good to go.

Disc brake lower ball joints ar different than the drum. So if the disc ball joints are good you are good to go.

but the KH balljoint will fit in my drum a arms?
Yes...
The uppers are no different assuming you have 67-72 UCA's on the car. Same part number for the upper ball joint.
The lower BJ is different drum vs. disc, but, will bolt up to the same lower control arm. The Disc and drum LBJ's do not interchange between spindles.

The ball joint "stud" that goes into the hole of the lower control arm is no different between a drum brake, or disc brake, lower ball joint.
The difference in ball joints is DRUM brake ball joins attach to the spindle with 1/2 inch diameter bolts. DISC brake ball joints attach to the spindle with 9/16 inch bolts.
You can drill out drum brake ball joints to 9/16 without any problems. That's all the factory did anyway, between the two ball joints.

There is a company that sells a kit where you can run all the stock components, They have it for the 9" & 10" drums, There is some work involved but not much, Its basically a bracket that bolts to the factory spindle assembly, Then you buy like a celebrity rotor & caliper, I can't think of the companies name off hand, but i want to say "thunderbird" or something like that, i'm sure someone would know.

It's scarebird and I still think you have to drill the rotor for the 4" BP ?????

Just put the jackstands on the K member or frame, remove the nut on the lower BJ, pull the tie rod off. whack on the BJ with a BFH and the torsion bar will help pop it off when you whack it right. It will only drop down about 4 to 6 inches at most. Then you should be able to turn the drum away from you, undo the upper BJ nut and again with the BFH, give it a few whacks and it'll drop when you get it right.
put a jack under the lower contol arm and jack it until you can get the new spindle on for the disks.
