This is for my blue 73 Barracuda 318 but will someday have my 340 in it. What header would you go with and why. I was thinking about a set of TTI but they are a little pricey but may be worth it.

Hedmans are the first ones that I would go with...
To many horror stories about Flowtec the ones that Summit and Jegs carry that have their brand on.
I just bought a set of Hookers for my 81 Dually from Advance Auto.
Their price was better than Summits when you use their discount codes.
I got the headers, clamps and hangers for less than a set f Hedmans were through Summit.
I agree TTIs are nice but priced out of sight.

I am truckless..

I have always judged a header by the thickness of the mounting flange and the quality of the welds. I have had a set of Hooker Super Comps that were coated when new, they still seal great and look good. My 2 cents

We put TTI's on my moms 67 barracuda. Great fit, dont leak, and they make the car look nice

We got them for 350, they had been used but not much and looked new....definatly one of the better things my parents have bought for the car

Had good luck with Hooker comp and super comp headers.Factory ceramic coating did'nt last for me.
My TTi's are great.Probably outlast the engine.

I would consider a set of Doug Thorley headers for your application.

I bought a set of Hooker super comps. (just black painted) years ago for my 416 stroker. Had them Titanium coated. I did the Titanium 'cause now they don't look like every other header out there (I am always getting comments on them, yes good comments!). Strong as nails, look fantastic, and do everything I want in a header. Haven't had one issue with them in all these years. For the money, they do me fine.

Hooker Super comps all the way.
Never Hedmans! not a good fit as well as customer service.
If you are game for custom pieces then look no further then Kooks customs. Works of art.

I like Hooker Supercomps my self. They are not cheap though. I have a set of adjustables in my car that are older than dirt and still going.
Rersonally I fail to see what everyone likes about TTIs. yea they might fit well, but their lengths are all over the place. Not the best for MAX power.

I've had good luck with Summits brand. Cheap, no clearance issues with starter, PS, and steering column linkage. Cons. Have to run steering linkage through the driver's side. Does hang a bit low if you are planning to lower your car I wouldn't buy them. I sandblasted mine and repainted with high temp paint and its been holding up great.

What are these codes ...and what was the final price?

I have never used Dougs so I cant speak for them but I really like my TTI's. Thick flange and never leaks. Ron

Does (Jere) Stahl still make headers? If so he by far has the best "real world performance" headers or should I say "head on his shoulders" when it comes to making headers.

I have a set of Dougs headers on a Ford I own. They look and feel like they were made by TTI and cost losts less.

Take care,

Yes Jere Stahl is still in the header business and probably still makes the best headers.

My Doug's fit well but the ceramic coat started rusting within a couple years. This was in a car that is always stored indoors and lightly driven.
