My wife said if I sell the Jeep, my next project is going to be the last project, so I figured I had better do a '57 Chevy while I can. After looking for about 4 months, I bought a SUPER solid, straight and nearly rust free '57 2 door Sedan in Daytona Beach. Not a complete car, its basically a body that's already been blocked straight on an already restored frame, plus a butt load of parts.

I'm with you on that one Dave , that is my favorite shoebox from the movies ... my first car , birthday present from my parents , was a 1956 Chevy 2 door sedan. Never really did much with it but it was a blast to drive in my senior year of high school.

I really like the Roadkill '55 Hemi Gasser project, that got me thinking ...

Wow, that was a nice b-day present! I've watched that Roadkill episode several times. I agree, Finnegan's '55 gasser is very cool. To hop in a just completed car, and drive it across country takes some grapefruit-sized nuggets!

Since we're posting pics of tri-fives, here's what I dragged home. (I didn't envision finishing off my Jeep build thread on this note! LOL)

Thanks. Just a 480hp LS3 crate motor with a 4L80E behind it.

Well, soon the Jeep will be backing out of my garage for the last time. I took a deposit from a buyer. The Jeep will be moving to Fort Meyers, FL. It's the end of an era, but the beginning of a new one! boogie

Sweet Solid Foundation....this should be interesting.....the LS platform is certainly taking over and most likely more budget friendly than say a big inch fuel injected traditional small block....????

Looking forward to following this build.

and I'll probably get a chance to see that Jeep after all since it's coming to my hood !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oz- your brake booster is on the wrong side!

Dave, tthat looks like an awesome start to a project. The tri-5's are timeless, can't wait to see how it ends up. Like John, I absolutley love Finnegan's car. He just ditched the 8 stack injecton and installed a blower in the last month or two.

It's a funky Top Gear setup where the guy on the left steers but the guy on the right accelerates and brakes.
