The reason why I ask, is that I'm thinking of putting that style in my 86 RC that was factory with the 360 the 80's style radiator. But I have a 446 motor in it now, and was wondering if I should get one for a Big block or one that fits the cooling system for that year/360?

I just swaped the HD thermo clutch with 7 blade fan from my 85 SB to the 440 in the 88 truck. just order a HD max cooling thermo clutch for a mid 80s dodge truck,I use an 86 3/4 ton for the counter jerk to key in. for an upgrade in rad capacity the 86 3/4 ton has a rad thats the same size wide and bolts in but is 2-3 inches taller, has its on metal fan shroud. the differance is one is thermocoupler and one is viscus fluid you want the one with the spring coil on the front I would up to a 7 blade fan on the 446 as well.

Ok, guys this is what's on it now. Which looks to be a factory style five blade flex fan? I'm not sure if I can get another three inches of Radiator in my RC. Would it darn near be sitting on the core support or is it taller also? Mines 26 X 18 X 2, three core.

yes SB and BB fan should swap I got my JY 7 blade fan from an AMC Hornet, bolted right to the HD thrmo clutch and have had it on the SB and BB. any clutch fan blade should bolt to the mopar clutch,IIRC the 86 3/4 ton truck rad is taller and uses a metal fan shroud it will bolt right in like the one you have but the top is above the core support,it has room under the hood and fills it up. check your fan size as the AMOZON one is 19.5"...want to make sure it fits in the shroud...measure the mech fan balde thats on there and use it as a guide

The 5 blade pictured looks like the Mopar Performance unit that I have run on my 67 GTX in Arizona with no problems.
That 5 blade pictured looks like a broken seven blade fan. That thing could not possibly be balanced.

Looks sort of funny but that's how they are made. Apparantly uneven spacing prevents annoying resonance (noise and stress). The pair of two blades is close together vs the group of 3 that's spread out so it does balance.

Thanks again, guys what are some of the ways to see if they are good or as far as the clutch goes. After it get to temperature and you shut it off should be able to turn it or should it be locked up? Thanks again for you guy's input.

Fans are designed with uneven blade spacing for partial noise cancellation by combining low density with high density sound waves.
The thicker fan hub is made of the same grade of fatigue resistant steel as wheels. I used to sell the fan hub steel to one of the largest fan makers, Schwitzer of Rolla, MO, when lots of cars still had V8s with belt driven steel fans, rather than sideways engines with electric driven plastic ones.

look for greese around the shaft and clutch.
see if it will wobble with hands at 9 and 3 while its bolted up.
FSM said replace with a known good one
as far as them spining,it will vary by temps..some times it will spin a few times when shut down, sometimes it stops right away
some times spins ez by hand some times has a drag to it by hand when cold.

Thanks. Those five blade fans are quite that's for sure. It's funny when it does kick in(clutch fan) you can tell cause you can feel the heat from it standing from the side with you head under the hood. I think that I'm going to get that HD unit from Flex a lite to see and then maybe look into electric fans. Either a helper fan like my 2002 Dakota has or total electric set up.
It helped some going to this fan, but didn't totally get what I was after.
