Hey All:
Been launching the car at 3200 or so, but it definitely wants more. When I raise the rev limiter to 5000, the car will start to roll at 4400 or so. My car makes about 325 hp at the tires. I've got tons of good parts in this trans. It does have the multi-spring arrangement instead of the factory single spring. I have the A&A brake.
Talked to A&A, he says the factory 904 drum/piston arrangement is too small and the fix is to go with his steel drum and larger piston (which has only come out recently), and that 904s pretty much all have this problem.
I don't know if I'm exactly skeptical or not, but it seems like a lot of guys run 904s and if I'm having this problem at my power level, a lot of other people should be also.
Having a bad bog issue I can't seem to get rid of either. A&A says that he thinks leaving so low on the brake is not giving the carb enough signal. Not so sure about that either. Carb is a 750 Quickfuel.
Does anyone have any insight or ideas?
Thanks for any help,
Steve

I have A&A's "BIG" piston aluminum high gear drum. 5800 RPM on the chip. No problem with A&A trans-brake.
Rick told me anything over 3800 RPM, IIRC.
904s don't have near the surface area on the the cluches or the pistons of a 727.

low voltage will do the same thing.. as you increase rpm if your ignition sys and fuel, water and fan..are taxing the alt output voltage.. it can do this... so can a poor ground or chaffed wire with broken strands... My brake wont hold if my batt is low..i run an alternator and elec fan,w-pump and fuel pump. the brake creeps if i am late in rounds with a low batt...fwiw.. cheapst

steve, i have around 700hp, 904/w turbo action brake. no creeping problems. i leave @ 3800/w a 5000 stall conv. 1.26 60'- 9.65@137.53. i'd double check clutch clearences & band adjs. line pressure & detent is critical. i have 180# in 1st, 160# 2nd & 3rd. rob at a&a told me i don't need a billet drum. said he never heard of a stock 1 exploding. ur bog could be some carb adjs.
