I DONT THINK YOU NEED THE HYD FLUID, UNLESS YOUR BUILDER IS TELLING YOU YOU HAVE TO USE IT, I TRIED A 50/50 MIX WITH TYPE F AND THE HYGUARD......MY TRANS NEVER PUSHED SO MUCH OUT THE VENT (ROSSLER 400)
i WENT BACK TO THE TYPE F AND IT ONLY PUTS OUT ABOUT 1-3 OZ AFTER A DAY AT THE TRACK 3-6 PASSES.

....BAD A$$ STREET CAR.....

I talked to mytrans guy and he couldn't believe we didn't run them on our 727s. CSR actually makes a trans catch can. He said it's particularly important in a turbo car as when I'm on the brakes building boost and bumping in, I will heat the trans fluid up in a hurry.

I only have 11 qts in the trans which is one less than was recommended to start with. And I run hydraulic fluid not trans fluid, so I didn't want to waste any.

I supprised you are having that much coming from the vent. Sometimes there are cross leaks in the pump causing these issues. There are other ways to fix that such as moving the vent from the pump cover to the tail housing.
TH400 are nice transmissions. I have built a few and require some attention in different areas. If its a full manual without the modulator, keep an eye on the main bearing thrust. TH400 don't regulate converter pressure well and can cause issues with the crank thrust.

DO NOT PUT A 400 INTO NEUTRAL AT THE FINISHLINE

Depending on how your valve body is made, it may cause the drum to speed up and burst. Call the person who made your setup and get specific instructions. You don't want parts and hot oil coming through the floor of the car.
