Stuck in traffic on a hot day the Jag fan clutch still keeps the temperature at a healthy level - the old clutch didn't. I would have liked the Jag clutch to spin the fan a little faster, but as long as it cool the motor on a hot day I'm fine - less drag than the severe duty units.

I see the jag uses a smaller plastic fan!! this is the answer to the slower fan speed with our metal large dia fans.

I used the Jag fan. Came w/ bushing. Kept the 383 cool. No shroud. I noticed it seemed to need several seconds to even out when cold. I could hear a difference at first start for about 20 seconds or so.
Worked really good. I got mine from NAPA. Ran a 7 blade OEM fan blade with it. Not sure what from or pitch.

I tried to use the hayden jag clutch on one project...It fit OK but it just did'nt seem to work like it should have...Thought I got a bad one and had it replaced...Same deal, the temp was high and it never seemed to "lock up" like it should have...Ended up yanking it and using a fixed blade on that project...

My posts are the "Anonymous" user in this thread (long story).
I've had my car out and about some and done quite a few 6000 rpm burnouts. So far so good. Keeps the temp right at 180° with no shroud.
My motor is pretty mild and I made sure the radiator was gone through before I installed it.
It's a Hayden Heavy Duty unit and I have no reservations about beating on it!

I've run it in my car for 3 years now or so. It's a 416 stroker. But I can get it up to 6000 at the end the straight at Willow Springs. I'm sure when my instructor drove it he got more revs out of it. I've got the rev limiter at 6400 and I know I've hit that in 1st gear just to see if it worked.
