i ordered a ram clutch pressure plate anc disc kit. it was listed as a 10.95 disc. that would be right for a 440 cuda from what i can find.
when the disc came i measured it and it was 10 7/16. the pressure plate was about 11. is this right or did someone screw up?

From their FAQs:

I have a Chrysler application and the pressure plate sizings are confusing. How do I know if I have a 10.5, 10.95, or 11 inch clutch?

Chrysler used several clutch configurations in early model cars, including a special 10.95 clutch which is essentially an 11 inch pressure plate in a 10.5 inch cover. The best way to tell is to fist measure across the bolt circle of the flywheel. The 10.5 and 10.95 inch patterns measure 11.375” center to center across the bolt circle. True 11 inch patterns measure 12.375”. If your bolt circle is 11.375 and the pressure ring measures just under 11 inches across, you have a 10.95 pressure plate. Also note that 10.95 clutch sets utilize a 10.5 inch clutch disc. Finally, if you application uses a 130 tooth flywheel, you must choose between the 10.5 or 10.95 clutches as an 11 inch will not fit the flywheel.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

There really wouldn't be one, you still have only the 10.5 clutch surface .

Yep, they are deliberately undersized so that they will not catch on the pressureplate cover if the pilot bearing wears out. IIRC Rams are even more undersized and their 11" disc should easily fit with a 10.95 plate. I don't know why their FAQ says the 10.95 kit comes with a 10.5 disc.

i just pulled out one of my old 11" disc from another project i had and it looked like it would have fit that 10.95 pressure plate fine. looked about the same fit that way as my 10.5" clutch disc and 10.5" plate i had.
any one have very much experience with a 11
" disc in a 10.95 plate?

thanks everyone, kenny
