Now, I've got the stripe off but they left a glue residue.. any suggestions on what I can use to remove it without damaging the paint.....? It didn't soften my paint, but parts of the truck had been repainted so I can't say it was factory. I tried the adhesive removers, WD40, Goof-off, Goo-Gone, and they all succeeded in softening up the glue so it spread around and made a bigger mess. What finally worked the best was gasoline on a cotton cloth.
