The question is are ignition wire bracket sets by year specific for appearance or fit? I have a 68 GTX 440 with a ‘73 440 block (5-11-73 6398830-440-9). I’d like to put the ’68 brackets on. Will they fit? My first instinct is the different year sets match what was OE available, and all the 440 blocks have the same fit and attachment locations (headers excluded). In any event, I can’t go full stock appearance since I have black Edelbrock valve covers without the mounting tab for #8. I still need to paint it blue also.

It's the shape and style of bracket that is different for each applicable year.

Year of engine makes no difference

Thanks, That's what I needed to know.

Also, the wires are a miss-match of two sets because one set of moroso blue max from Year One (PW75) didn't fit. I think it was number 8 that wasn't long enough. So they will be changed out.
One more thing for the ever growing list.

Also, as an FYI,
the headers brings it's own mix of problems.

and IMO, would use only the 2 upper OE style brackets and mix in some kind of aftermarket looms near the headers themselves. instead of buying and having to bend the OE brackets to fit with headers
