Someone asked me if the lettering on these decals should be silver or white. What I've seen looks like they are silver. Aftermarket decals look like they are white. I guess the alternative is that they are transparent to show the chrome through the decal.

Anyone know for sure?

Mine looks like the photo, and I think it's original; I bought the car in '85. The car had headers, Hurst shifter, and the motor had been gone through years earlier, though. It's 9/30/67 St. Louis car.
Can't tell for absolute certain, but I think the letters are not clear but "chrome". I'm not about to peel the decal off!

Here's an update. The new decals are printed on a clear backing so when they come you can see the white backing paper through the letters which makes them look white.

I'm still curious if this is the way the originals were made or if the repros are cheating by doing it this way.
