First off I have to say it, I HATE WIRING. Been having some problems with my GTX at the track. While in the pits, I always charge the batteries between runs, the car will fire up, and run to the staging lanes, but once in the lanes the MSD Digital7 box wasn't getting constant 12 volts, and the car would not fire up.

Well the last couple days I've been reworking some wiring, and eliminating every last piece of 42 year old junk. Got rid of the factory key switch, and installed some switches from Waytek, I bought for the Road Runner a few years ago.

Wish I would have done this a long time ago. Car now fires instantly, and even sounds more responsive, and cleaner. Now I want to get the car back to the track, and see if it picks the car up a little more. Anyways here is a picture of the new switches.

1969 Mopars(all brands iincluding the Imperials ) are famous for having wiring problems Other years where not so great either I've seeen a lot of melted wires under the dashes in many Mopar cars from 1965 to 1976 The darn bulkhead connectors causes many of the problems

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

I keep thinking about my 43 year old ignition switch giving up the ghost @ the most inopportune time
I'm an admitted wiring procrastinator , really need to do my car to.

Your switches and placement look right at home there
Where did you get those switches

They were great to deal with, and fast shipping. Be forewarned though spme stuff has a minimum to buy. Was no big deal, just have a couple extras for the trailer now.

I got rid of the 43 year old wiring about 12 years ago. Now if I could only get rid of the 59 yr old driver and the 59 year old mechanic, Ill be doing ok.

Yea Yea, been away for a while, starting to get just a bit of ambition, hope it lasts a while.
My mind has always been very hard at work, figuring out new and good combinations, but the body dont always agree.

how have you been?

Doing good! Took 4 years off of racing, and been out a couple times this year. Told myself this needs to be fun, not a must do. Having a ball again. You had the GTX out at all?

Yea. not lately though
once or twice last year, once or twice the year before. Not at all yet this year
want to pull out my 383 and correct a bunch of mistakes and see what it can really do. Spent too much time and effort chasing compression ratio on this, wanted to compare it to my 446 but neglected flame travel. BIG MISTAKE and Big dog.
have some changes planned, hope to be out when the weather cools off.
So you took a bunch of time off too. I hear ya about it should be fun.
way beck when I was chasing points in 95-98 degree weather saying to my self, [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] are you doing here.

Gee I didnt say anything bad just 3 letters

I killed all of my factory wiring other than the lights and wipers last year. WOW did it make a difference, I hope you find some better ET slips from it
