I ran an MSD Digital 6 on my mustang for several years, at that time I was the 8th owner over 6-7 years and the setup was the same the whole time. I used it to retard the timing for nitrous and relied on the rev limiter due to manual trans. It never missed a beat! I put one in my Barracuda as well but have limited use on it.

I would use the Firecore50 mechanical distributor and coil with a MSD 6AL,the newer MSD 6AL units look really nice with great features The Firecore50 distributor will fit with your Indy EZ heads and it's very easy to adjust with a movable plate instead of those loose rollers in the rotor I have had this setup in my car for about 900 street/strip miles with Denso iridium plugs and could not be happier Gus

If you want to race at all, the digital 6 is tough to beat. It's got adjustable 2-step and high end limiters, along with an adjustable retard option for nitrous.

my car went 10.50s with an orange box but it did take a crap. then i ran the FBO for a while till a member here gave me a MSD 6al.
I will say this, my AF ratio at idle and cruise got leaner with the MSD so it works. car ran the same number at the track but idled better

If clearance isnt an issue, I would go with the DUI Distributor. It's a GM HEI put onto a mopar body. Everything is contained within the dizzy. One wire hookup, chuck the ballast resistor.. And someone mentioned breaking down...there are 50 GM HEI modules in stock at every parts store in america. lol Just my personal favorite for it's simplicity. They also make a small distributor that will clear any firewall that uses an external coil. http://www.performancedistributors.com/

Another vote for the MSD Digital 6.
