my car was built in a hurry and had a BBK fuel pump installed # 1602. It was installed even with the top of the fuel tank just below the trunk floor, which I now know to be wrong, so it has been working hard all its life and finally started to fail. I found out that the inlet and outlet connectors and hoses coming from the pump were 5/16's and they were connected to a hard fuel line to the motor and the tank connection, which were 3/8's. So they were forced on. Removing the pump to replace it, (my hands look like I got in cat fight there is no room to work) which pump do I replace it with knowing in its location, and it is going to work very hard, ( the car has air ride, which fails all the time, and I hate to mount it lower and risk it getting damaged) and a pump with the correct PSI and GPH for this 525 HP beast, knowing again its working with a 3/8s connectors?
Question 2 is do you think with a high pressure (fuel injection hose) and highpressure clamps I will be ok, or should I do something different? thanks you guys are great.
I used to be able to ask my son, but he doesn't offer the old man help anymore, so I am on my own.

thanks for the private pms. I have a handle on this now and though I should make some major changes I am confident I am on the right course, again thanks for all the message help.
