I just dumped the old gear oil from my 93 Dodge diesel dually and replaced it with Valvoline 85W140 High Performance it says it is good for limited slip,,but do I need to still put in an additive for the limited slip carrier??

You might have to. I had to add the extra little bottle on a 9 1/4 antispin, and used the same valvoline so I thought it would fly. It didn't..

I've found "limited slip" lube stills needs the additive.
