that's hard one to answer. Early car builders will always be know for the creation of some of the most important innovations in our sport. The debut of the Lenco is a good example as some of the ingenuity in headwork.Cars and driver alike will never reach the hero worship of Sox and Martin, Bill Jenkins,Dick Landy Motown Missile,Don Carlton etc. The early cars are my choice. If the later cars do bring a higher dollar I feel it will be based on one major itgem. Those cars will be kept together in one piece and in much better condition than the early cars ever where. At the time of their sale the car will be 98% original. Far from the rebodied / restored /recreated early cars . Some of which are lucky to have 20% of the original sheet metal and none of the suspension or drivline. I know of a few that are said to have no credible validation at all.

What could be better than to buy your drag racing hero's car. We became pretty close friends and spoke nearly daily for the few years before he passed. To race it has been a dream but going to the old S&M shop for pictures last year was exciting. Then on my next trip down I went Piedmont. That was S&M's test and home track. I got to make a pass in my ride down the same black strip of asphalt in the very same car as the great Ronnie Sox. I AM NOT SURE IF IT GETS ANY BETTER THAN THAT

Will the new prostock cars be worth the money that the old prostock cars are bringing in 20-30 yrs??
I don't thinkk so.Present day P/S cars are a compilation of pieces, often nowhere near "stock" that almost anyone can buy & recreate. They're pretty much "cookie cutter" cars now, nothing really seperating them from one another, except maybe the engine. The old P/S cars were musclecars to begin with, had their builders ideas in them, rather than a set formula, so there was alot of creativity in them that you just don't see now.......

Fred,Your right...NOTHING BETTER!!!!! I met Ronnie a few yrs back at Cecil County. I believe he was driving a Ford Fairlane Pro-Mod type car in the Sox and Martin colors. He was a GREAT guy and took the time too talk with me. I wish I had taken a pic of us together.

IMHO...No way!! The current cars are basically the same regardless of make..they have the same wheelbase, same front overhang, and pretty much the same chassis. The engines are close to each other also.
What I HATE abount Pro Stock??...the NOSE of the car tripping the lights!!The car stages with the front wheels, but the nose trips the beams on the top end.Bogus!!
The cars of the past had MORE ingenuity, and brand loyalty was more apparant.I think you worked harder and smarter in the older days, todays cars..punch in a laptop and download data.
No sir,I don't like it.
