Look in the trans classified section here on Moparts for the gear. Someone posted both o-rings sizes a few years ago, but I don't know if that info was ever added to the tech archive. Basically, head to your local Ace or True Value Hardware store with the gear and housing in hand, and size up the two o-rings. Stanley, care to elaborate? Have you got a sub-29 tooth gear?

What's a "sub"-29 tooth gear as oppose to any speedometer gear? I'm using a 31 tooth (black) gear for my 3.55 rear and 30" diameter tire. Or are you referring to a gear with less than 29 teeth and uses a different adapter?
What my was about is that this thread reminded me if I've got it indexed properly...
Gotta get under there when I'm motivated enough.

The seals for the speedo adapter should be available from the dealer or TF Patty on e-bay.
You need the gear ratio and tire diameter to compute the correct pinion gear.

That's what I was wondering. I couldn't remember the specific number of teeth which requires the special housing.

Why experiment? Just supply the gear ratio and tire diameter and get the correct part.
Here's a link to TF Patty's offering, always available but not reasonably priced IMHO. I'd check with the dealer first.

Because he mickey moused a speedo repair , he put a 150 gauge face on a 120 speedo cluster , putting the correct gear will make it read properly to the cluster but not the gauge face .

I know, but there is an 80% factor between the 120 and 150 speedo and that can be figured into the pinion calculation. Of course, the odometer will become useless.

I bought a pinion gear about 4 years ago from the local Chrysler dealer (which has since stopped being a Chrysler dealer due to the auto bailout; now they sell Kias). I figured out which one I needed and what the current part number was using the resources here on Moparts.
