maybe chase down the mph issue first, before changing heads,,,, I kept chipping away at mine and found some mph with carb, timing, weight, adjustments. Tried carb spacers, sealing the hood, header extensions, was all trial and error. The other issue was my fuel system, pump, filter, etc,
I'm sure you have already looked at alot of these things, but for me, each little thing, tweaking, got me some gains,
Might be cheaper than throwing new heads at it right away, I'm running E brock heads on mine
Good luck, doug

Thanks,Doc! Last time out in miserable air it was running mid 10.50s..It 60's 1.427 pretty consistantly..I have had a 1.397 60' and was on a 10.40 pass but had to lift for a win light..mph is right at 125.92...If I could get this thing to go 10.10s I will be happy! I also think the mph should be around 130...
No you wont Ted. If you go 10.10 then you know you will want to go 9's ! Ron

From what I recall of your heads, there really isn't much left (cost effectively) to do w/ them. If you want "more, more, more..." then don't bother putting any more $$$ into the old heads.

The TTI headers that are made for the raised port SRs fit GREAT. Better than any hooker header I've ever used. Hedman also makes a set for this application, but they are 2" primary. The TTI's are 2" to 2 1/8" stepped primaries. I had a 14:1 (old set of Ross domes) .030" over 440 (stock crank) w/ out of the box SRs and a 1050 dominator on an old Team G that ran 10.40 at 129.1 mph at 3700#. That was w/ an old Herbert roller. Now the heads are fully ported, has a custom Dwayne the man Porter roller cam, and Indy -3 manifold. It's in a little lighter car now, but hasn't been to the track yet.

I ran them on my 65 Belvedere. 451 pump gasser with an Ultradyne flat tappet cam. Car was 3770 with my lard butt in it and it went 10.50's on pump gas. Should have never sold that car, one of the few I had I wish I still had...
