I had fans that suggested turning the blade around backwards too. Not putting much thought into it, I tried it. DUH! That's just plain stupid and will not work. I have no idea how they got away with putting that in print.
Think about it. The motor turns the same way. The blades are angled. Now, what happens when you flip / 180 degrees on a vertical axis? It look an awful lot like /. To get \ out of / would require removing the blades from the hub and sticking them on the opposite side of the hub. I don't think super glue is going to do the trick here.
