When I bought my car in 05, it had some nasty aftermarket chrome turn down tips on it. They HAD to go. So I had a local exhaust shop do this:
I thought they did a real nice job on it. Kicked 'em up and down and then sliced nicely. Sort of like how I thought they would be if they were stock tailpipes.
At one time I had considered getting the correct tips. At the time, repop valances weren't on the market and used ones were very hard to find and FAR from cheap. Most of the ones I found needed plenty of body work too. I figured between the cost of the tips, valance, body work and paint... I would have had OVER a GRAND in putting tips on the car.
In the end, stock isn't really my thing anyway. So I yanked the tailpipes completely and I just run dumps on the mufflers.
