Mr.P,
As others have said,I'm glad you are okay. I am glad it is just a setback, and not more severe.

Dang, I hate that for you, and have been there myself. I have a similar story about lifts. I had one of my motorcycles on the lift working on it. Simple fix, didn't tie it down. Turned the ratchet a little too hard...over she went, opposite of me, in REALLY slow motion. Parts scattered all over the floor. Total loss, and parted it out on Ebay. Lesson learned here. I know you don't really have a lesson to learn (except maybe an elec. disconnect at lift), but know you are not alone! Glad you are fine, and car is fixable!

That suxs Mike.. Could have been worse, could have been injured, had some part of you body on the hospital side of the pinch point...

It could have been worse... but what is left of the
body(just a shell) I can pick up... the front end
damage is what pissed me off but I can fix it.. just
takes more time

Well I got the body glued to the chassis today... so
hopefully it wont be falling off the hoist anymore

Glad you weren't hurt Mike. It's bad enough to have the setback of more body work.
We recently pulled the body off my car for painting. The guys couldn't find the electric winch, so we did it with a chain hoist! After what you went through, and others have said about this, I think I will stick with the hoist!
