Steve, Simply awesome and thanks for sharing! What trans are you currently using? There are a few of us here with basically the same exact setup and trying to figure out how to make them live on the street. I am hoping to get mine put back in the car Monday. :-)
Right now I have a McLeod street twin and using the factory a-body 833 but I know it can't handle the power that I have available. I don't want to cut up my car so I think at this point I will probably buy a 5spd from Passon Performance when they are available.

I am using an 833 tranny, its an Aluminum over drive case with all the 4 spd guts and built by liberty gears. I had it Super Pro Shifted on 2nd and 3rd gears and just pro shifted on 4th. I shipped it out to Liberty gear in a box they sent it back ready to bolt in for under $1000.00 and that was with an after market aluminum tail housing. They said good for 800 Hp all day long. I have been beating on it for 4 years with just over 400 Hp to the rear tires and has never mist a beat. best 950 dollars I ever spent.

Shift light was set at 7000 rpm. The carb I had built by Pro systems, it flows a true 960 it was built for my Eng build. I thought maybe a little small for the power, but pro systems guaranties me this carb will get me to the the end of the track the fastest. ? so fare very impressed.

What does this carb cost ballpark? I hae a 750 annular now, but if my engine wants more I might go with something bigger from Pro Systems. I really like what I hear about them. Never any drama...

Was it already an 18-spline with hemi internals as well? Mine is unfortunately not aluminum but for that cost I may give them a call to see what can be done to mine to make it last. If it's not a PITA to drive a pro shifted trans on the street I'd love it! Quote:

One of the last big $$$ items I want to have done....even at our power level more like 450hp it just makes sense to me.....by the way, Congrats thats a killer ride you put together ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)
Now....only to fund the rest of our project...lol

the Aluminum trany cam out of a 80s Dodge Van, you can still find them out there, but all lightweight gearing, I put in the guts from my A body 4 gear. 18 spline

nice ride..was that your place of business in the videos...I watched them all...sweet runnin machine..
Ya , My shop is called S&J Auto Service. I started the shop in 1990. I opened my first shop in Vancouver in 1983 Called Steve's Centerline Performance, I was just 20 years old.I have had this Scamp since 1979 I was 15 years old when I bought it. The engine was done so I found a old dodge out in the bush that was left for dead with a blown trany. I built a try-pod out of tree's write there and swapped out the engines, Ive been driving her ever since between all the projects she has encountered.

Open to suggestions on that one, the #s with my set up with 600 hp 2900 lbs 0 slip 4 gear 30" tire 4.88 gears @ 7500 should run between 9.5 and 9.8 at 138 to 141 mph I will be very happy to get a 9.9 and I think there is some rpm to play with here. Car is certified for 8.5s I have not yet licenced for the 9s but hoping to. If the car will dip into the 9s on eng I don't no that I will run the Nos at all ? Your thoughts on that.

The hoping is the duster, I just a few day's ago put the trany in his car with a trans brake and the rear suspension is all stock with no traction bars of any kind and on that run she hoped bad but as it comes out of the stick it starts to skate like mine. its a 440 car and runs 10.30s and the guy running it,is in his 70s. so cutos to him. This coming winter I will be putting a ladder bar system in it for him.

Steve
how many turns of base did you have?
By the sounds of the motor...your close
I still have it set for the street, 5 turns, I was only launching at 3500 rpm and not coming out hard into it, it was still braking loose, on that pass it finally hook for the first 20 feet and then broke looses just out side of the sticky area So I backed out a little, on my sec shift broke loose again so I feathered it until it hooked and then went hard in third, and forth. How many turns do you set your at.
