I purchased a Kevko M-301 oil pan and was assured it would fit with my 4" stroke crank. Well, I went to put it on and 2 of the rod bolts hit. Its not much so is it OK to bend or dimple the tube to allow clearance or do I need a differant pickup tube? Thanks, Marlin I haven't contacted Kevko yet to see what they say, will be doing that today.

Yes I did but I am running Scat i-beams with the cap screws. Should clear without a problem. My guess is the OP is running stock rods.

Bend the tube for clearance.
that would cut down on oil flow and plus, those tubes dont bend easy, do they?

Id use a different tube When you bend it, you run the risk of reducing oil flow

Scat H-beams. I have since called Kevko and they assured me it is supposed to clear so they are sending me another pickup. The tube attaches to one of the main cap bolts (as a support)so it is going to be difficult to bend as it is hitting close to the oil pump. The thickness of a nickel is about all I need.
Thanks for your help.

is it screwed in correctly? maybe its angled wrong. also, if the oil pump isnt seated right, it could bind up?
are you running arp bolts or stock style main bolts? Arp bolts will hit the oil pump unless you grind the heck out of them (I ran a stock bolt in for the #5 main

Stock bolts. I've taken it in and out several times with the same results (twisting and turning the tube in and out) just to make sure it wasn't me. I am using a windage tray main bolt with the bolt on top to attach the support on the tube.
