Also, now when the tank is full, it never reads "full" for some reason, only 3/4 at best with the "new" sending unit. I have heard this is a common problem too.

There is a small part of the inner lip that is warped, a small amount of liquid metal to fill in the warped area (approx 1/4 of an inch of the lip), then go from there. I have the tank out now.
Nothing else I have done seems to seal it up. It's either this or drive around 1/4 of a tank at a time....or a new tank. I've replaced several of these and this is the first issue I have had, so I really don't know what to do either. eight
