I am buying a 1972 W200 crew cab tomorrow. Ex military truck. Had a 318 that is gone. NP 435 tranny.
I found a 1999 truck with a 5.9 that had title issues. I want to take the engine and all of the wiring harness from the headlights to the taillights and install in the 72. Hopefully use the tank out of the 99.
I would get the 99 factory wiring diagram and remove things like the a/c wiring, etc. I may need to get a manual computer as the 99 is an auto.
Am I crazy? Has anyone went down this road before. I did some searching and didn't find anything so if someone knows of any articles that mimic this I would appreciate it.
