Like trendz said, the MSD connects the yellow or brown/white wires to ground to complete the circuit. I think you should use the brown/white wire rather than the yellow. Like Dave Hall said, the brown/white wire is the RPM switch & is easier to set-up in the MSD than the shift light output(yellow wire). Do you have the programming software for the MSD 7531?
