I have always wondered just how this stamping of a hole in a fender tag was done. In all the Automotive plants I have worked the inspection stamp has always been an ink stamp usually put on a broadcast sheet or inspection sheet made of paper. What exactly was inspected if this is some kind of inspection stamp, the fit coming out of the body shop or something else and what machine was there to punch a hole in a sheet of metal that would have access for letters and numbers to be changed.
