So as long as you caught the wiring way back where I show it. Before it splits to the balast and VR, then you did it right. There is just an issue with the wiring to the alt from the regulator.
You probably shouldn't wire directly for power from the alt output. I would do it to the battery instead. To the relay that is, as shown in the drawing. ground can be anything but I prefer to run all the way back to the battery.
