mine says 89 recommended, 87 OK, but it is an earlier generation. Follow the manual. If is says 87 Acceptable, then OK. Anything higher (92+) is fine, it won't hurt anything. You just are paying more for a tank of gas
I wouldn't tow or haul with 87, especially in hot weather.
