I think I tried everything on my GTXs tips. I kept tapered strips of cloth with a short wire twisted on one end that I could fish through the slots. It was a ton of trouble and they always got dark from the heat anyway.

What I ended up doing was keeping a new set of tips in the trunk and swapping them for the drivers at the show. A lot of trouble too, I know. But they always looked great and got a lot of peoples attention.
