Just went from a 489 case 3:55 sure grip to a Detroit locker with 4:56.
It seems no matter how much I try to adjust the axle nut I still have damn near what seems like 1/4” of end play.
Do I have to run the green bearings with a Detroit? What am I missing?

Are the thrust buttons in place?
...if they fit with the locker.

They both have spacers. The sure grip is 489 and the Detroit is 742. I am wondering if the spacers are different.
