Does anyone know a clean method to install a new pinion snubber bumper?

I can't figure out how to bend those tabs over without distorting the rubber mount at the same time.

Factory one or the adjustable aftermarket one? Not sure I have an answer, but a better idea of what it looks like may lead to some ideas.

Cass-I had the company that made the first run of the Dana snubbers install a NOS rubber on one of their bases. They said they had to have die/tool made because of the same problem you are having.I'm not sure if they are still doing them.

Probably need a tool where both tabs are bent at the same time like the anvil of a stabler while backing up the rubber securely. I run into this crap all the time. Tough to duplicate on a budget what the factory could justify spending thousands on dedicated tooling - my background is industrial automation. Seen a BUNCH of auto factory and automotive supplier machines and tool over 30 years.
