You need to concentrate on focusing for the starting line twocents
I've been through this more than once, I've raced at the track since 1964, wait until you get old and have to worry about age related brain issues whistling grin FOCUS,FOCUS, FOCUS on that bulb, no matter which one your using twocents

You could always turn it back into a street car, buy one of those chairs with a cup holder and an umbrella, and start going to car shows.

I don't think you should listen to that. I have time slips with soft lights from every racer around here. Buy a one weekend to Nhraallaccess, and see for yourself. Everyone's heroes, going .163. There are great lights, but mostly average lights. The better racers always prevail. As was mentioned, change the car, not you. Also, when you go delay, things really tighten up big time, so get ready. You either spend the cash upfront on the delay box equipment, or one bite at a time buying parts (mostly tires, converters and gearing), until the car is right for where you see the tree signal. Been there.

I've seen guys with .880 in the box and others with 1.140. Lots of variables. I have around 1.100 in mine.

Had a buddy, dead now, who would show up just before race started. No time runs, knock the tree down in first round, if red light just rebuy and adjust the box. He said why waste his time, he was there for the money. Many year track champion at different tracks. Had a rail and car. Was also very good before the box came about. So you either have it or you don't, the cream rises to the top.

Magic number for me is always .986 in the box, if i go up or down it almost always ends up back there in eliminations. Turbo action brake in the 904 and a Moroso adjustable button with as little travel in it as possible.
