Since my 511 took a turn for the worse, I decided to swap the roller into my 440 so I can run my car at the start of our season. The jury is still out on what ultimately happens with the 511, but for now the 440 should be a great fit for Barney. It made 685 peak HP @ 6700. It pulls very nice into the 7’s which tells me the valve train is staying happy. Peak torque is in the 580’s @ 5500. For what I have into the motor I am happy with the numbers. Of course I wanted to hit the 700 make, but I knew that was a stretch with what is in the motor. Cam is a custom grind 268/276 with .451/.445 lobe lift. Indy EZ-1 heads and a 4500 on top. Running a vac pump too.
Enjoy the attached video.

The 511 had a cracked head on the short turn. First plan was to swap heads off 440 onto the 511. When I pulled the second head I found scoring in #7. So out if came and the 440 goes back in for now.

Just add more spray. It'll all be good.

I think I will avoid the bottle this year. I am running point, so the number is what it is. As long as I am consistent is all I care.
