69 Charger 440, AVS carb. Carter website shows M4434 as correct fuel pump, with a 1/8-27 female inverted flare (output) and 5/16 hose barb input. Confirmed with their tech rep. Right Stuff website shows the RPC7001 pump to carb kit, 2 lines, for same application. Their tech rep said both lines have 1/2-20 male threads.

Is an adapter, 1/8-27 male to 1/2-20 female, commonly used for this setup, or is there an alternative fuel pump for the 440 with a 1/2-20 output thread?

I don't know about the specific adaptor but every time I've used a carter mechanical pump the local hardware store (ACE) had everything I ever needed to make it work.

Do you, need to replace pump or lines?

The right stuff products are usually wrong and don't fit.

Sounds like their fuel line kit is wrong. I won't buy from them anymore.

This is a common line kit used on 3834bbls and 440 4bbls from mid 60's to end of 1969.

Try Fine lines or inline tube.

Everything I bought from The Wrong Stuff was, well, Wrong. I wouldn't buy anything from them.

the 1/8-27 is a pipe thread. you'll need a 1/8" pipe/5/16" inverted flare fitting to screw into the pump (1/8-27 outlet port). once you get the inverted flare fitting everything else is simple and right-stuff may have the fitting.

If your pump has the 1/8 27 npt ports you need to have the brass fittings to go 1/8 27 male to 5/16 inverted flare which is 1/2 20 threads per inch. The line kit you are looking at will work as long as you have the correct pump and carb size fittings.
