I ran Mickey Thompson MTZ on my cummins a few years back. Had bf goodrich all terrain ta k/o before them... never got stuck with the mtz's, but didn't take much mud for the ta k/os to get the tread totally caked and stuck!

I'm running bfg ko2 on a cj5, mt2 on a 1/2t working truck , bridgestone dueler at on 2500 ctd ram, and toyo at on a cherokee. In most cases an at wil be the best choice unless you have a dedicated off road, or you have a lot of gravel roads (even then I'd opt for at). Mt's are really noisy rock throwing tires. the toyos are a strong tough off road tire as are both the bfg's toughest is the Dueler being on a heavy truck with high weight rating on the tire. I'd suggest you check them all out and look at sidewall thickness. The mt's make considerably more noise, mt's and at's usually have higher ratings allow more air pressure (helping with on road economy, but can be aired down to a point for off road. If only one tire was made, I'd hope it was the km2 even though they are noisy. I've been buying lots of 4x tires for over 40 yrs make sure you don't go too agressive, but meet your need.. Are you planning to run on road, desert sand, or rock ravines? Each use will dictate a different tire. four wheeler magazine (check their website) often runs comparison ratings of several tires, might check that out.

How far do you live from the local shopping mall? If you are close you could get a more aggressive mud type tire, if you have to drive say 20 miles gets some all terrains. I like BFGs A/T ...

I ran Dick Cepek Mud Terrains on my '01 Ram for quite a while. (They were out of Fun Countrys). They were surprisingly quiet and they went absolutely anywhere I wanted to go. The tread wear was better than I expected, too.
