Anyone ever experience this? The Hot idle compensator opening up and causing a misfire at about 4500 rpm under load?

many years ago i had customers 69 GTX do that,i end up plugging the hole with a lead ball. every thing work fine after that.

That's interesting. We had it happen on the dyno this weekend. It happened sporadically. I noticed after it happened the idle went way lean too.

I'm kinda hoping that's the issue... seems odd it could happen at that rpm WOT.....

They work by temp and should only open on very hot eng temps as they just let more air to the eng when it gets real hot. Its a bi-metal that opens when very hot as it sounds like its not working right. As long as your eng does not run to hot you really should get by without it. Ron
