The recent Rod Hall truck thread got me thinking - anyone make their '70's D series into a prerunner? Just looking at my lump of a '76 D100 and thinking it might be cool to make it into a baja truck. It's a 2wd.

I know the Walker Evans trucks were generally '80s D150s but I have seen few if any '70s models. I see a lot of Ford F100s made into prerunners but no Dodges of that same era.

Wouldn't even know where to start with the suspension pieces like extended control arms, etc. I believe there are fiberglass body panels available for D150s but don't know if they would work on a '70s cab/chassis.

Just curious more than anything.

USbody has fiberglass front ends for 70's dodges. The rest is pretty foreign to me but I think they would look good.

I've always wanted one of those. My favorite off road truck of all time. Trailer Products Fiberglass has the fenders and bedsides. They have a hood, but it doesn't look like the one on that truck which I think is the best. I wish someone made that hood with the drop down center.

Theres one here in town that uses a lot of Rod Hall's tricks, and then some.
Its my dream Dodge Pre Runner.

Finally found one stinkin' picture.

Looks like '80s body panels that were referenced above with a mid-70's grill. Guess it kinda works. Pretty radical truck there.

I looked up the build on that truck, that's some serious fabrication.

Samco Dodge

Seems like they used a lot of 'generic' parts and made them fit. There really is nothing out there for these trucks (bolt-on or otherwise) to make them into prerunners.

Would be a daunting task for sure. Probably not something I am capable of or have the funds to accomplish.

Wow! That sandsoulutions truck is awesome. I think Oz Hemi had a stepside lifted like that. 2wd and all.
