I've always run the old technology RN9YC Champion with absolutely no complaints. I'm building a new stoker small block and have been wondering is there's a better choice for a plug. I'll be running a Scat 4 in. crank and I beam rods, Icon 744 flat top pistons with open chamber 974 casting with 2.02 intake valve, .508/292 purple shaft and air gap intake wit 750 hp style double pumper, and stock re curved dizzy with chrome box and super stock style coil. Thanks for any help you can give.

I would try those plugs to start with up If there to hot try the next step colder, RN7YC or if you can get them RC7YC or RN6YC or RC6YC up

Thanks guys! It looks like NGK offers a lot of options in the7-9 heat range, including non resistor race plugs, but all I'm seeing in the Champion line is resistor plugs. Will I see any advantage between non resistor vs resistor plugs?

If you want a non resistor plug in a Champion you need a C65CX. That is the hottest of that series. If you want a colder plug than a C63CX would be 1 colder and a C61CX would be 2 steps colder.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston
