Hellcat supercharger on a 6.4 or 5.7 - 11/22/23 06:34 PM

Has anyone here done a 6.4 with a HC supercharger or a 5.7 ? Just wondering what results anyone has had if any. Thx RT

You can but they de-stroked the 6.4 to 6.2 (same block/bore) for a reason. They were also snapping the snouts off blowers from other manufacturers during their testing stage. I guess it all depends what you're using it for

Yea, to make a more robust crankshaft. And no where in that article did it mention changing out those hypereutectic pistons.

In the 6.4? The pistons are weak because the ring is so high to meet emissions that they cant take any boost. You're on borrowed time at even 6psi. Hellcat pistons are forged and made by Mahle. Again, its de stroked for a reason. OE engines have to meet a crazy level of abuse - hot lapping in death valley, cold starts and WOT in the arctic. Not changing the oil, using the wrong antifreeze etc

I live on the edge of Death valley I see All the MFG cars come through at the end of summer they all do it at the end of the HOT season for a reason. To pass the Test.
Its all BS

Any engine super charged OR Turbo charged should have Forged pistons PERIOD.

They do not move the rings Hi on the pistons for emissions......

The high ring placement has two (2) benefits:
- reduced emissions due to less crevice area above the ring to capture unburned air/fuel mixture
- improved torque due to better combustion efficiency

For OEMs, it's the first reason that drives this trend: https://www.enginebuildermag.com/2005/01/piston-ring-technology-stock-and-performance/

If I do this I would definitely add forged pistons and most likely rods too.I've seen the 5.7 rods snap but usually from a hydrolock issue.

A member on my chrysler 300 Fourm did it to his SRT8 300

Can't think of a rod that wouldn't have hydrolock issues. shruggy
