Im not sure what kind of comparioson this is supposed to be, an early engine saddled with the crappy dual plane intake and a cam of what size ? VS a later engine with better intake and EFI...
Im confused but I would think a more meaningful comparison would be to stick a stock early motor with the factory EFI controled by holley VS an eagle engine controlled by holley, if your gonna saddle one down with a crappy intake do it to the other also.
HRD the comparison was to show the cost of the early v/s late model in a retrofit. Carbed old model was nearly as expensive as late model with Holley setup.
Bucks down approach would be the early 5.7 with factory computer used, but they did not show that.
Just my two cents but I would start with an eagle head motor and just wait to find a deal on one.
