Why would they go into the bottom end and not put more cam in it?

Which front cover does a Jeep 5.7 get?

I asked the same question, that and the Mod man intake, they would of been better off with the OCP intake and the FAST system. Ric had a stock 04 long block with Crower Cam #33492 .505/.528 lift 206/213@50 114LSA OCP intake F.A.S.T system 465HP was the best pull , I think the RPM was 55 or 5700.

Eagle 09 and up.
Did any of them come with the nag1 or only the truck trans?

Re: Recycled 5.7Hemi - 07/14/19 01:38 PM

I think the stopped useing the NAG1 when they became FCA ,

Re: Recycled 5.7Hemi - 07/14/19 02:00 PM

Nag1 continued in cars until they got the tf-8 program up and running with enough volume to cover the v8 application.
I want an eagle/nag1 combo for my fury with ac and ps and all. I think the truck front cover of better for that but a car lift out is what I'd been looking for to get the nag1. Now I'm wondering about Jeep applications.

I saw it and there is another new vid on it today... but I just don't get why you buy a 50k engine then tear it all down to just reassemble basically stock other than an intake/water pump.

I am happy to know it made that much power for basically a take out engine with a questionable intake and headers. I would love to see someone do that with a 6.4 long tubes and a tall drag pack intake, I would bet at least 550 HP without pulling the valve covers.

Working on it
This is a bge I swapped the reluctor ring , ran the engine with a carb
And the msd 6013 ignition controller
I need some headers and a center sump oil pan to actually use it in the car
I’ve really considered running the engine stock with maybe a srt cam just to see
What type ET’s it could produce

cool! The cam and compression is the only thing your lacking VS the SRT. Are you going to dyno it at all?

Re: Recycled 5.7Hemi - 07/17/19 08:52 PM

Don’t plan on dynoing
The lack of compression is really the only thing holding me back
I just ordered an aei front engine plate so if I continue
To slowly gather parts who knows what will happen if
I have all the swap parts needed
Just hate to put it in and only be able to run a 7.0ish

valid, but there were cams back then. And I believe they had compression tests way back then too to determine if it even needed to come apart smile

Well, I'm fairly New to the G3 engines, Never was much of a Mopar guy, dabbled with My D100 off and on thru the years, but haven't done thing with it since 08 other then started it move it wash it.
I was cruising and the ole Inter webs and came across that Video, which had a published date of 7/12/19 , Sooooooooooo I thought it was a NEW video......And Honestly not sure how much the aftermarket for these have changed ...Not like there is a lot of Info on these engines, Other then Valve seats bad, Rods bad, 6.1 cranks are junk, Blah, blah, blah. both of my younger kids are getting in to these , considering they have been around Fords their whole life, I sure don't want to be "that dad" who blows them off because its' Dodge and not Ford., my 1st Gen Lighting(solid mid 10s) got it's a$$ handed to it last year down at Atco by a Citron Yellow painted Ram...So I became curious....so it may be 8 years old to you...but it's new to me.

It doesn't matter how old the videos are or who posted them. the concept is still the same. this is a great platform to play with. I am hopefully about a week away from firing mine up. life has gotten in the way over the last year and progress has been slow. But very excited to drive this hotrod and get 15 to 20 mpg. the info is getting better and better on these motors.

My pointing out the video being 8 yrs old wasn't meant as a bash.

As mentioned, some of you honestly didn't know.

My intent was nothing more than if you are doing a build and want to copy them, know that you're looking at (now) old products.

Nothing more, nothing less. If you learned something from the video, great!

A lot of these cable shows are now being re-released 'as new' on YouTube.
