Hellcat/Demon low profile water manifolds - 08/26/18 05:21 AM

Just a little something I've been working on for the A and B body guys. No more chopping firewalls to get your Hellcat, Hellcrate, or Demon build to fit in your cars.

Great contribution to the Hellcat conversion / hot rodding world. I found/bought an extra water manifold that I planned to cut off the ends and mill them down to receive 90 degree AN fittings. End result would be similar to your product, but your product provides a cleaner look and result.
Two questions:
How much are you selling these for? Are the tolerances where it enters the supercharger the same as the factory manifolds? (factory manifold is very precise)

Also, can you provide contact information and website if available? I can't quite read the phone number in the pictures.
Again, thank you for your contribution toward our conversions

Another quick question; Since the water manifold has a sensor port and sensor for water temperature as it exits, do you have anything in mind as to how / where to relocate the sensor? This is something I need to address whether or not I mill down the manifold ends or buy your product. Just wondering if you've thought of that part too.
Thanks again...

So there are several options. You could drill and tap a port for temp sensor or you can run one in line some where it is out of sight. I wanted it to be as clean as possible.

This is identical to the manifold. I'm currently trying to figure out a way to get them both to exit toward the passenger side. Unfortunately the fuel rail is giving me a hard time. So I don't think it will be possible without lots of machining and not looking so clean.

Is these needed on an ebody? How close is it?

$350 a set plus shipping

A little story, The manifold was put on a CMM. I drew it up as small and tight as possible. I made quite a few 3D prints to get everything how I wanted it. In the end I thought I had a superior product. Well to verify that, someone at FCA matched it up to their manifold model as a go, no go gauge as they couldn't give me measurements. Their reply was it's dead nuts.

I don't believe E bodies need them. Just A and B that I'm aware of so far.

I welded a bung for the temp sensor in my intercooler tank.

Keep in mind, the ECM wants to see the water temp after it's been through the blower to determine any timing adjustments etc that may be needed due to excessive heat. Depending on where your tank is located, the water temp could be giving the ECM the wrong information.

No, not on the Ebody. I have room to spare at the back of ours.

Good to know, thanks. Looks like I'd need to go to a 3spd wiper as well, the tall 2spd probably wouldn't clear.

Re: Hellcat/Demon low profile water manifolds - 09/21/18 03:28 PM

I bought a set of these. onceI got them, I asked how to install the sensor, oh just run inline somewhere he says, its 1/8 npt.. no its 3/8 Npt.
how do you make what was 2 lines IN/Out from the factory. with these you have 4 lines to run back into 2...he has no way of doing that, no instructions on hooking 4 lines back into 2.
I said well I can't use these, can i return them. ya for a 150.00 restocking fee.
thats a 48% restocking fee.... what a Nice way to treat fellow member.

BUYER BEWARE.....

these are a nice start but he rushed to market.... needs more thought put into it....

everywhere these are for sale, this will be there.....

Really, you're spreading this garbage on here too?? Come on dude get over it. You're fabricating a scenario because you couldn't figure out how to run some fittings. Plus, it's going in a Chevrolet.

Re: Hellcat/Demon low profile water manifolds - 09/23/18 07:46 AM

70blackfish, your campaign to smear this product seems a little extreme. It's pretty clear in the pictures of the product that the "in" and "out" orifices are all facing each other and the maker never gave any promises other than his manifolds take up much less space between the blower and the firewall than the stock water manifold.

I am grateful for the guy's attempt at a solution (the product is VERY nice) other than cutting up the firewall and unless I can come up with another way, I may buy a pair. I'm aware that it's on ME to get the hose connections sorted out and also find a way to include the temp sensor.

Since I started my effort to install a Gen3 into my A-body Cuda, there have been VERY FEW products out there that are a total solution for any of the issues. If you don't have fabrication/creativity skills, you should bring your car to someone who does. Please don't mess up a nice product and possibility for the rest of us. Just sayin'...

Agreed, it's just simple plumbing fab. Anyone attempting this kind of work should be grateful this product was made.

Not piling on, but the restocking fee sounds excessive?
Not everyone wants a science project when they buy a part.
If it's not what was expected, return (with reasonable fee) and look elsewhere.

I suspect there's more to the story than what we've heard. Likely the buyer bolted them to the blower and tried to make them work. Now wanting to return a "used" product with scratches and marring?

I just frown on the "millennial" approach of smearing crap all over the internet about it and now, here I sit, involving MYSELF in the crap frey. Geez...

Re: Hellcat/Demon low profile water manifolds - 09/30/18 06:16 AM

Here are the facts. Jody bought these from me no questions asked, all he told me was it was going into an older Chevy truck. I realized I forgot to send instructions with the package. I sent Jody a digital copy before he even received the parts, thanks to FedEx screwing up the delivery and delivering the package to the wrong address.

After Jody received the parts, he asked me what the thread pitch was for the temp sensor and where to mount it. I wasn't in the shop and for some reason 1/8 NPT seemed correct, so that's what I told him "I believe its 1/8 NPT". I was wrong, he later messaged me and let me know it was 3/8 NPT. I told him I'd make a note of it. A trip to the hardware store is always a quick way determine thread pitch if you don't have gauges. I also did tell him he could mount it inline somewhere. Not a big deal, put a tee in, with a 3/8 NPT adapter. He didn't like that answer.

Fast forward a couple days later, he asks me how he's supposed to plumb them. I tell him the simplest way is to use some AN hose and y fittings. A few days later he says he modified his motor mounts and no longer needs the manifolds. He asks for a full refund. I ask him if he test fit them he says "YES". SO, I can no longer sell these as new, because I'm an honest person. So I'm supposed to eat the cost because someone didn't want to use the product? Now I have a set I'm going to lose money on. I'm a one man business, I'm not a huge corporation that can eat the full cost here and there. This is the reason I imposed a hefty restocking fee. I figured it'd deter him to return them and sell them to someone else and lose maybe $50.

Instead he files a complaint with PayPal, says I sent him an item that wasn't as described (a lie). He also files a claim with his bank that there was unauthorized use of his credit card (a lie, and probably fraud). Now my PayPal is locked up with the funds in limbo. I had to spend hours on the phone and filling out forms for PayPal with all the information they request. In the mean time he slanders me all over the internet, flat out says he is stealing my intellectual property and is going to sell it for cheaper on several different FB posts.

Everything is documented with time stamps and screen shots. I will not post those unless I need to.

That should clear everything up.

For future reference here are the installation instructions. It's not a science experiment. A little planning and measuring you can figure out how to plumb this.

Nice instructions, how to install four bolts..... So anyway...I sent them back to you in perfect unused condition. i have detailed pictures before they went into the same box you used to ship them to me, and on my dime as per you pay pal statement for a refund, waiting for a refund...

Re: Hellcat/Demon low profile water manifolds - 10/02/18 08:16 AM

And to be clear i asked Jesse if he had any of pictures of these installed and plumed for any kind of reference, figuring he made them or had someone make for him he must had thought this all the way through...he must have pictures of the in use.......!!!
well i still haven't gotten any photos, he did post a picture with some 5/16 fuel line bent into them.. he also told me he can't take them back because i probably jammed a 3/8 fitting into them and made them unsellable, and was going to change me 150.00 restocking fee...thats 46% so then told him Im going to file a claim unless he gave me a refund...his exact words in his text were..DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO........

Re: Hellcat/Demon low profile water manifolds - 10/02/18 09:12 AM

The factory has a temp senser in there manifold, SDG does not! he recommend i run it in line somewhere, that is why i asked him what size it was, because i was home ordering parts to run it in line somewhere and my project was 30 miles away, I was home wasting my time and money on ordering parts to install it in line and 300. 00 in fittings.
The factory mopar manifold use 2 3/4 lines going into theres..
SDG takes that and turned it into 4 5/8 lines, with no answers or pictures on how he got all 4 plummed and back into TWO 3/4 lines.. he did say to just run 5/8 and you'll be fine... (like 5/8 3/4 same thing)

no matter what im still loosing money and my time....

over the years on this site, i have made lots of friends, and done buisneess with a lots of vendors
since jan 2003... no one has given me any grief,,,till this guy!

If you have the ability drivers side exit low profile water manifolds are now available. These will fit Hellcat,Demon, and Hellephant SCs. Over 1.5" shorter than the factory water manifold. On a Duster you still have 1" of firewall clearance on the PS, so no more chopping up your firewalls. We also have the originals available as well if you want to loop the line back around to passenger side and y it together.
