Awesome what these cars can do these days. Impressive as it is. The stupid A$$ fender flares ruin it for me. I would rather put that drive train in my 2012 R/T. I like the 08-14's better than then 15's & up.

Always a negative nancy no matter what... if it wasn't the flares, it'd be something else.

I'm sure they are built to handle even more power, just detuned so they last.

I like the flares. Amazing that there is that much power left as low hanging fruit! Jeez---someone is going to get 1000 rwhp without NO2 out of one of these soon.

That’s what suprised me as well, usually you need a pulley change for that kind of hp. Seems like this was all timing and fuel changes

That has to be touching on 1000 horse power at the crank ....when is the crate engine out?

The thing I think a lot of people miss, is the Hellcat engine is not breaking at these power levels(some supercharger bearing issues)
The Demon so far seems to be able to handle 1000hp@ the crank and their not breaking pieces.
I love my old G2 hemi, but lets face it folks in stock form they wouldn't hold it together like these G3s are.

If they offer a Demon crate engine, I would have to think seriously about selling off the old toys and dripping one in the Scatpack.

I’d guess they do come out with one within the next year or so

How different are the engines? Cam, different blower?

Demon uses a 2.7L blower at 14.5 psi, Hellcat 2.4L @ 11.7 psi. Cams, I’m not sure. I think everything else is pretty much the same
Edit:apparently the cam is different. .561/.551. 224/240@.050, 109/137 lobe centers for the Demon.

According to that link, 62% has been changed from the hellcat to demon engine... way more than I figured.

Looks like better rods, better built crank etc.

I think the 62% figure relates to 62% of the parts value are different not that 62% of the components are different

Block, heads,front cover, crappy timing gear is the same ,
Rods, Pistons, Supercharger, cam are different

"This was achieved by introducing a new version 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi, with 62% of the content changed from the original Hellcat Hemi — including a new block, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, and supercharger assembly."

This is from the article... Looks like a redesigned shortblock, not just rods/pistons, cam etc. To me this means block, crank and so on.

I believe the only real difference with the block is its honed with a torque plate.

The other real power producing changes are camshaft, larger supercharger and intake.

I've had 2 Demon 6.2s come thru here for some coating work, casting # on the block was the same as my Hellcat blocks
It's my understanding( my source could be wrong) that the Demon engine during assembly , not only is Honed with a plate, but the rings are Gapped with a plate also.
