MDS - Can it stay for carb'ed applications? - 12/22/17 09:46 PM
I recently picked up a complete 6.4 Hemi from a 2016 HD (complete thread to come later)...and I'm hoping someone can tell me if you HAVE to delete the MDS for a carb'ed application. What would occur if you just leave the lifters, and leave the solenoids installed and unplugged? Based on my understanding of how MDS works, the solenoids will remain closed and not impede the lifters from interacting with the pushrod/valves.
I plan on using this long block as it came from the factory, for at least a few seasons before I tear into it...so conflicts with bigger cams isn't a concern presently.
I'd like to do as little to it as possible, aside from what is absolutely nessesary to get it into my Coronet and down the track. With how many hits I make per season, I'd like to experiment with a low dollar OEM build.
